Bina Cita Utama School (BCU) is located in an innovative international community of Rungan Sari, in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Bina Cita Utama means means to nurture ideals, hopes and ambitions. |

Founded in 2005, BCU School
has a mix of pupil population including Indonesians, children of international residents in Rungan Sari and local Dyak children. This mix offers an ideal multicultural, multi-ethnic and multi-faith environment where children learn to appreciate the differences of each other and share a common humanity. |

Rungan Sari is a pioneering spiritual community developed on some 160 hectares located 36 kilometers from Palangka Raya, the capital of the Indonesian Province of Central Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo. It is home to an international community of Subud members from 14 countries of different ages and skills.

| |
The community consists in residential houses, the Rungan Sari Resort, a Latihan Hall for spiritual practice, the Bina Cita Utama School, the Muhammad Subuh Foundation Pendopo and the Eco Village located within its boundary. |

The school offers an education in both English and Indonesian languages. It aims to serve the academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of its pupils using both Indonesian and international curricula. BCU is the first and only bilingual school in the province. It offers a scholarship programme with an aim to provide the high-quality education to talented local children from low socio-economic backgrounds. Around 10% to 15% of the student population are on scholarship at any given time. |

The school's teaching and learning and other activities are geared towards individual child's holistic development needs. It provides a high quality learning environment that nurtures and educates the whole child. The BCU believes that when a child is brought up and educated in this way, he or she will be able to make positive contribution to the development of their communities and the world.
Over time, the school has become a positive model for future schools in the province. |
