Nuestra Señora de Fatimah

Nuestra Señora de Fatimah, located in a rural area of Colombia, aims to nurture the sense of well-being in the children by helping them to connect with and admire the beauty of the surrounding natural environment, as well as their inner world.

The school also focuses on fostering childrens' self-esteem, helping young people, in particular those who have previously had emotional wounds, to heal themselves from inside.

By providing an environment that is caring and loving, allowing children to be free from fear of failure, punishment and blame, the school aims to bring out their innate curiosity.

	Amanecer Community
	The school of Nuestra Señora de Fatimah, is part of an innovative rural community development project - Amanecer. It is managed by the Fundacion Educativa Amanecer.
	Most of the people living in the community share a spiritual practice of Susila Budhi Dharma (Subud) which means to live in accordance to the guidance from a greater wisdom.
	Amanecer includes housing development, enterprise support, educational projects and other social innovations.

The GHFP supports the school's innovative approach to teaching and ensures the continued articulation and implementation of their pedagogical ideas.

In 2010, Nuestra Señora de Fatimah won a competition to run an early years educational programme for local children, especially those infants from poor backgrounds and difficult conditions.
